Islam isn’t reserved for the pious. For those who pray, fast and donate. For those who outwardly comply with what a Muslim “should” look like. It’s for the broken too. For the sinners. For the drinkers. For the smokers. For the lost. For those waiting to be found. It’s for every single human soul waiting for a way out of their despair. Don’t make this religion secluded to the self-righteous, when in reality it’s an open house for anyone seeking to find themselves- and God.

I’m tired of people romanticizing overexertion. Exhausted is not the new chic, coffee (though a delicious necessity) is not a food group, and running on fumes is not admirable. Why do we hold pedestals for sleepless nights, breakdowns, and inner turmoil? Are those really things to aspire to? Self-care. Balance. The ability to know when your body, mind, and spirit need to take a step back. Those are things we should admire. We have to stop blurring the line between ‘commitment’ and self-endangerment because too many people are burning out before they have a chance to truly shine.

Apparently some people can have a thought like “I need to do this” and then they actually have no problem getting up and doing it.  What a weird way to live, how strange, wonder what that would be like.

Fanmail

virtue22:

udaas93:

What tumblr is doing is unethical and inappropriate.

It is wrong.

I am in tears. I am devastated.

I know hundreds of people have contacted tumblr about restoring the fanmail option for people who need to use it.

All of the legitimate reasons for this request have been explained repeatedly to the staff yet they are ignoring the well-being and health concerns of its users.

The IM message is not a conducive message system for everybody.

It is only effective for people who send short quick messages or where they don’t require to save it.

For people who use tumblr as a main system of communication or sourcing, removing tumblr fanmail is destructive.

Fanmail is necessary for long-term communication and for in-depth replies.

Also, it is difficult to scroll down through IM to save messages and long messages are disruptive on IM.

It was easier to communicate through fanmail for a lot of people.

Also, tumblr lied to us about fanmail. They said we could still fanmails to tumblrs that we already communicated with.

I was still able to use fanmail with the old messages.

Today, I received a disturbing message ordering me to use the new messaging system.

Tumblr didn’t notify us of this change. Now people who can’t use IM’s due to anxiety issues or other health problems can’t communicate on tumblr.

Tumblr should set up messaging where people can have the choice to send IM’s, asks, or fanmails.
They can set it up where tumblr users have the CHOICE to send options.

IM’s do not reduce spam at all.

This a change that many people on tumblr can’t adjust to.

I am so upset.

At this point, there will be people who will leave tumblr.

IM’s are disruptive for me. They can trigger panic or anxiety attacks. The narrow layout is constricting and bothersome.

I know people who won’t communicate at all without fanmail.

Please bring it back or at least let us communicate through our old messages.

Don’t remove the thousands of messages people have saved over the years.

I NEED FANMAIL!!!

I literally can’t use instant messaging because it triggers panic attacks.

Tumblr is destroying an aspect of my life for absolutely no reason.

Do I have to ditch tumblr and go back to livejournal? This is going to cause such a negative impact.

ALERT! SIGNAL BOOST!

Contact www.support.tumblr.com and www.staff.tumblr.com about this.

I am furious and so traumatized right now.
